The Model Context Protocol (MCP) lets an AI assistant use outside tools. The Lucyd MCP server gives Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients direct access to Bitcoin Up/Down prediction markets, so you can ask in plain language:

> "Show me the open 15-minute BTC markets and their prices."
> "Buy 20 USDC of Up in the current 1-hour market if it's below 0.55."
> "Close all my positions in markets ending in the next 5 minutes."
> "Redeem everything I've won today."

## What the agent can do

- **Browse markets** — every open round from 5 minutes to a day, with strike, time left and prices.
- **Read the order book** — bids, asks and depth for each outcome.
- **Trade** — place limit orders, cancel them, close positions.
- **Collect** — redeem winning tokens after settlement.

Reads use the public API; trades are signed locally with your key. The key never leaves your machine.

## Setup in two minutes

You need Node.js 18 or newer. In Claude Code:

```
claude mcp add lucyd -e LUCYD_PRIVATE_KEY=0xYOUR_KEY -- npx -y @lucyd/mcp
```

For Claude Desktop, Cursor and other clients, add the same command to the client's MCP config. Full instructions, a Windows note and prebuilt binaries are on the [MCP page](https://lucyd.trade/mcp); the source is on [GitHub](https://github.com/lucyd-trade/mcp-server).

**Use a separate wallet for your agent** with only the funds you want it to trade.

## Why prediction markets suit agents

An Up/Down market is a small, well-defined decision: one question, two outcomes, a known maximum loss. That makes it a good playground for agent strategies — from "follow the momentum of the last five minutes" to market making across all round lengths. The same data is available over the free [REST and WebSocket API](https://lucyd.trade/api-docs) if you'd rather write code than prompts.

## Try it on testnet

Lucyd runs on the Sepolia testnet, so you can let an agent trade without risking real money — and testnet trades count towards the [airdrop](https://lucyd.trade/airdrop).
